I adjure thee by God, torment me not. But Jesus no more answered anything; insomuch that Pilate marvelled. And when he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the Most High God? I beseech thee, torment me not. If thou art the Christ, tell us. But he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe: She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I have believed that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, (even) he that cometh into the world. but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name.
