Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah. Let not the foot of pride come against me, And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away. For the backsliding of the simple shall slay them, And the careless ease of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell securely, And shall be quiet without fear of evil. All this have I seen in my days of vanity: there is a righteous man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth (his life) in his evil-doing. Say ye of the righteous, that (it shall be) well (with him); for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe unto the wicked! (it shall be) ill (with him); for what his hands have done shall be done unto him.
