Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bonds; and thou saidst, I will not serve; for upon every high hill and under every green tree thou didst bow thyself, playing the harlot. They were as fed horses roaming at large; every one neighed after his neighbor's wife. What hath my beloved to do in my house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness (with) many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest. In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have cleansed thee and thou wast not cleansed, thou shalt not be cleansed from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my wrath toward thee to rest. He hath cast off thy calf, O Samaria; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?
