And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to Jehovah, the God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me. Harden not your heart, as at Meribah, As in the day of Massah in the wilderness; And they shall roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold, darkness (and) distress; and the light is darkened in the clouds thereof. and they shall look unto the earth, and behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish; and into thick darkness (they shall be) driven away. Therefore is justice far from us, neither doth righteousness overtake us: we look for light, but, behold, darkness; for brightness, but we walk in obscurity. Neither said they, Where is Jehovah that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought and of the shadow of death, through a land that none passed through, and where no man dwelt? Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery places in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein; for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith Jehovah. So they called a second time the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give glory to God: we know that this man is a sinner. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because the light is not in him.
