and ye said, Behold, Jehovah our God hath showed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth speak with man, and he liveth. For wickedness burneth as the fire; it devoureth the briers and thorns; yea, it kindleth in the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke. Through the wrath of Jehovah of hosts is the land burnt up; and the people are as the fuel of fire: no man spareth his brother. Behold, the name of Jehovah cometh from far, burning with his anger, and in thick rising smoke: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue is as a devouring fire; And Jehovah will cause his glorious voice to be heard, and will show the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of (his) anger, and the flame of a devouring fire, with a blast, and tempest, and hailstones. Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones; strip you, and make you bare, and gird (sackcloth) upon your loins. For, behold, Jehovah will come with fire, and his chariots shall be like the whirlwind; to render his anger with fierceness, and his rebuke with flames of fire. And great fear came upon the whole church, and upon all that heard these things. for our God is a consuming fire.
