But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God. For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life. That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous. For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it. For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler. If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein. Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings. And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit. Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account:
