If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near; If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near; How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin? For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
