He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto Jehovah, And his good deed will he pay him again. Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? But when thou makest a feast, bid the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: and thou shalt be blessed; because they have not (wherewith) to recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed in the resurrection of the just. But this (I say,) He that soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he that soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. (Let) each man (do) according as he hath purposed in his heart: not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
