The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; They have spread a net by the wayside; They have set gins for me. (Selah) He that guardeth his mouth keepeth his life; (But) he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. Every one therefore that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened unto a wise man, who built his house upon the rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and if fell not: for it was founded upon the rock. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without variance, without hypocrisy.
