And Pilate said unto the chief priests and the multitudes, I find no fault in this man. and said unto them, Ye brought unto me this man, as one that perverteth the people: and behold, I having examined him before you, found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him: And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath this man done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him and release him. It has happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog turning to his own vomit again, and the sow that had washed to wallowing in the mire. Him who knew no sin he made (to be) sin on our behalf; that we might become the righteousness of God in him. For such a high priest became us, holy, guileless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
