And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty years: few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage. For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers were: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no abiding. My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, And are spent without hope. Man, that is born of a woman, Is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: He fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, And all my members are as a shadow. Look on (my) right hand, and see; For there is no man that knoweth me: Refuge hath failed me; No man careth for my soul. For who knoweth what is good for man in (his) life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?
