Jehovah will fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of (another) nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that Jehovah your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? For thou art the God of my strength; Why hast thou cast me off? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? Surely in vain have I cleansed my heart, And washed my hands in innocency; Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? Or thy faithfulness in Destruction? In that day Jehovah with his hard and great and strong sword will punish leviathan the swift serpent, and leviathan the crooked serpent; and he will slay the monster that is in the sea. Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean. speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lieth in the midst of his rivers, that hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself. He hath showed strength with his arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their heart.
