If they sin against thee (for there is no man that sinneth not), and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive unto the land of the enemy, far off or near; If they sin against thee (for there is no man that sinneth not), and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive unto a land far off or near; How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? Consider (and) answer me, O Jehovah my God: Lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the (sleep of) death; Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin? for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
