For the upright shall dwell in the land, And the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the land, And the treacherous shall be rooted out of it. For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, And her mouth is smoother than oil: But in the end she is bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a two-edged sword. Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand (of the hunter), And as a bird from the hand of the fowler. If thou seek her as silver, And search for her as for hid treasures: Then shalt thou understand the fear of Jehovah, And find the knowledge of God. The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: He that is abhorred of Jehovah shall fall therein. Give not thy strength unto women, Nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings. And I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also was a striving after wind. Behold, this have I found, saith the Preacher, (laying) one thing to another, to find out the account;
