He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword. Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh. At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth. For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession. They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man hath his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.
