The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah. He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
