Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you. Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
