And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness. Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life. My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul. Are not my days few? cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little, Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs. All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness. Therefore now, O LORD, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.
