Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy? He teareth himself in his anger: shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of his place? Thou art become cruel to me: with thy strong hand thou opposest thyself against me. The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise. To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.
