What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof. But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
