The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place. God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness. I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us. Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness. O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. Also her hired men are in the midst of her like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, and are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, and the time of their visitation. Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.
