And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them. The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains. As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
