If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath; They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping, Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent. Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
