Therefore do the Jews of the villages, that dwell in the unwalled towns, make the fourteenth day of the month Adar (a day of) gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another. Thy gates also shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the wealth of the nations, and their kings led captive. For, as for thy waste and thy desolate places, and thy land that hath been destroyed, surely now shalt thou be too strait for the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away. And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. and thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates; What then shall we say to these things? If God (is) for us, who (is) against us? And the nations shall walk amidst the light thereof: and the kings of the earth bring their glory into it.
