Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for your stronghold is laid waste. How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations! O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, the measure of thy covetousness. Thy riches, and thy wares, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the dealers in thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, with all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy ruin. At the sound of the cry of thy pilots the suburbs shall shake. And all that handled the oar, the mariners, (and) all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships; they shall stand upon the land, And the ten horns which thou sawest, and the beast, these shall hate the harlot, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and shall burn her utterly with fire.
