Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob, They have ears, but they hear not; Noses have they, but they smell not; Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work is of nought; an abomination is he that chooseth you. Thus saith God Jehovah, he that created the heavens, and stretched them forth; he that spread abroad the earth and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding hath he stretched out the heavens: What profiteth the graven image, that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, even the teacher of lies, that he that fashioneth its form trusteth therein, to make dumb idols? Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise! Shall this teach? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it. But Jehovah is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him. And ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they are no gods, that are made with hands:
