and it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to destroy the moist with the dry. But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in (their own) counsels (and) in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward. But God turned, and gave them up to serve the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, Did ye offer unto me slain beasts and sacrifices Forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel? who in the generations gone by suffered all the nations to walk in their own ways. Wherefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts unto uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves: For this cause God gave them up unto vile passions: for their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature:
