When a man voweth a vow unto Jehovah, or sweareth an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth. When thou shalt vow a vow unto Jehovah thy God, thou shalt not be slack to pay it: for Jehovah thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee. Wondrous works in the land of Ham, (And) terrible things by the Red Sea. They that make them shall be like unto them; Yea, every one that trusteth in them. When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou vowest. Take with you words, and return unto Jehovah: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and accept that which is good: so will we render (as) bullocks (the offering of) our lips. And Jehovah spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, (which is) your spiritual service. Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
