The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, There is no fear of God before his eyes. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; And thou wilt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; And my sorrow was stirred. From the end of the earth will I call unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Thou wilt prolong the king's life; His years shall be as many generations. The mountains shall bring peace to the people, And the hills, in righteousness. For thus said the Lord Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. And ye would not: Righteous art thou, O Jehovah, when I contend with thee; yet would I reason the cause with thee: wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?
