Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker? Of a truth I know that it is so: But how can man be just with God? If he be pleased to contend with him, He cannot answer him one of a thousand. And dost thou open thine eyes upon such a one, And bringest me into judgment with thee? What is man, that he should be clean? And he that is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? How then can man be just with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman? The plowers plowed upon my back; They made long their furrows. Surely there is not a righteous man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law (cometh) the knowledge of sin. for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; For I know nothing against myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
