And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.
After him Baruch the son of Zabbai earnestly repaired another portion, from the turning (of the wall) unto the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest.
And between the ascent of the corner and the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.
Now it came to pass, when it was reported to Sanballat and Tobiah, and to Geshem the Arabian, and unto the rest of our enemies, that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; though even unto that time I had not set up the doors in the gates;)
Now it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,
And Jeshua begat Joiakim, and Joiakim begat Eliashib, and Eliashib begat Joiada,
and above the gate of Ephraim, and by the old gate, and by the fish gate, and the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hammeah, even unto the sheep gate: and they stood still in the gate of the guard.
Now before this, Eliashib the priest, who was appointed over the chambers of the house of our God, being allied unto Tobiah,
and I came to Jerusalem, and understood the evil that Eliashib had done for Tobiah, in preparing him a chamber in the courts of the house of God.
And one of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, was son-in-law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him from me.
Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that the city shall be built to Jehovah from the tower of Hananel unto the gate of the corner.
All the land shall be made like the Arabah, from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem; and she shall be lifted up, and shall dwell in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananel unto the king's wine-presses.
Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep (gate) a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porches.
