But the Pharisees went out, and took counsel against him, how they might destroy him. And when they sought to lay hold on him, they feared the multitudes, because they took him for a prophet. And they sought to lay hold on him; and they feared the multitude; for they perceived that he spake the parable against them: and they left him, and went away. Now after two days was (the feast of) the passover and the unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him with subtlety, and kill him: And he was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people sought to destroy him: And the scribes and and the chief priests sought to lay hands on him in that very hour; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he spake this parable against them. For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only brake the sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God. They sought therefore to take him: and no man laid his hand on him, because his hour was not yet come.
