Woe to him that getteth an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the hand of evil! but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: Sell that which ye have, and give alms; make for yourselves purses which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief draweth near, neither moth destroyeth. Charge them that are rich in this present world, that they be not highminded, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on the life which is (life) indeed.
