I am a stranger and a sojourner with you. Give me a possession of a burying-place with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be mine own possession from among all peoples: for all the earth is mine: Rejoice, O ye nations, (with) his people: For he will avenge the blood of his servants, And will render vengeance to his adversaries, And will make expiation for his land, for his people. For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers were: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no abiding. then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples. But I, as a deaf man, hear not; And I am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth. My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of Jehovah; My heart and my flesh cry out unto the living God. They shall not dwell in Jehovah's land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean food in Assyria. Then was Jehovah jealous for his land, and had pity on his people. I will gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will execute judgment upon them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations: and they have parted my land, These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lust, which war against the soul;
