The light shall be dark in his tent, And his lamp above him shall be put out. The steps of his strength shall be straitened, And his own counsel shall cast him down. He shall have neither son nor son's son among his people, Nor any remaining where he sojourned. Who gave him a charge over the earth? Or who hath disposed the whole world? If he set his heart upon himself, (If) he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath; All flesh shall perish together, And man shall turn again unto dust. If now (thou hast) understanding, hear this: Hearken to the voice of my words. Shall even one that hateth justice govern? And wilt thou condemn him that is righteous (and) mighty?-- Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, lo, it hath not been bound up, to apply (healing) medicines, to put a bandage to bind it, that it be strong to hold the sword. Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong (arm), and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is the darkness!
