The flowers appear on the earth; The time of the singing (of birds) is come, And the voice of the turtle-dove is heard in our land;
The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib; (but) Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.
Like a swallow (or) a crane, so did I chatter; I did moan as a dove; mine eyes fail (with looking) upward: O Lord, I am oppressed, be thou my surety.
Then I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish; for they know not the way of Jehovah, nor the law of their God:
I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they know the way of Jehovah, and the law of their God. But these with one accord have broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.
And in the morning, (It will be) foul weather to-day: for the heaven is red and lowering. Ye know how to discern the face of the heaven; but ye cannot (discern) the signs of the times.
saying, If thou hadst known in this day, even thou, the things which belong unto peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
