The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth; And it sweepeth him out of his place. God reigneth over the nations: God sitteth upon his holy throne. I also will laugh in (the day of) your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; who say to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face; but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us. Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that passeth away, by the wind of the wilderness. O Jehovah, my strength, and my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, unto thee shall the nations come from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Our fathers have inherited nought but lies, (even) vanity and things wherein there is no profit. Also her hired men in the midst of her are like calves of the stall; for they also are turned back, they are fled away together, they did not stand: for the day of their calamity is come upon them, the time of their visitation. Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the heart of the seas.
