Behold, all of them, their works are vanity (and) nought; their molten images are wind and confusion. who say to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face; but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us. For my people are foolish, they know me not; they are sottish children, and they have no understanding; they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge. Every man is become brutish (and is) without knowledge; every goldsmith is put to shame by his graven image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. For from Israel is even this; the workman made it, and it is no God; yea, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
