Behold, my servant whom I have chosen; My beloved in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my Spirit upon him, And he shall declare judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not strive, nor cry aloud; Neither shall any one hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed shall he not break, And smoking flax shall he not quench, Till he send forth judgment unto victory. And in his name shall the Gentiles hope. And he will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. But thou, Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend, Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I send? who is blind as he that is at peace (with me), and blind as Jehovah's servant? While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. Unto you first God, having raised up his Servant, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities. for of a truth in this city against thy holy Servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men;
