Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise; The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I put thine enemies underneath thy feet? So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken unto them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. For David ascended not into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly (places), who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Wherefore it behooved him in all things to be made like unto his brethren, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, (even) Jesus; Having then a great high priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. whither as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. For such a high priest became us, holy, guileless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; But Christ having come a high priest of the good things to come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation, looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of (our) faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
