For of his fulness we all received, and grace for grace. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life. Being therefore by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear. but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men; and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient (even) unto death, yea, the death of the cross. Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. And no man taketh the honor unto himself, but when he is called of God, even as was Aaron. of how much sorer punishment, think ye, shall he be judged worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? and he is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.
