For thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they are filled (with customs) from the east, and (are) soothsayers like the Philistines, and they strike hands with the children of foreigners.
Hath a nation changed (its) gods, which yet are no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear my words; and they are gone after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.
and ye shall know that I am Jehovah: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither have ye executed mine ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you.
Yet hast thou not walked in their ways, nor done after their abominations; but, as (if that were) a very little (thing), thou wast more corrupt than they in all thy ways.
As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.
Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters by all thine abominations which thou hast done.
to take the spoil and to take the prey; to turn thy hand against the waste places that are (now) inhabited, and against the people that are gathered out of the nations, that have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the middle of the earth.
