For a Topheth is prepared of old; yea, for the king it is made ready; he hath made it deep and large; the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of Jehovah, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
Take the choice of the flock, and also a pile (of wood) for the bones under (the caldron); make it boil well; yea, let the bones thereof be boiled in the midst of it.
Wherefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city, to the caldron whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! take out of it piece after piece; No lot is fallen upon it.
Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and rapine; the prey departeth not.
Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and establisheth a city by iniquity!
