Whosoever it be that eateth any blood, that soul shall be cut off from his people. All winged creeping things that go upon all fours are an abomination unto you. And whosoever beareth (aught) of the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even. Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, (And) drank the wine of their drink-offering? Let them rise up and help you, Let them be your protection. And Jehovah said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their bread unclean, among the nations whither I will drive them. They shall not dwell in Jehovah's land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean food in Assyria. Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but love edifieth. If any man thinketh that he knoweth anything, he knoweth not yet as he ought to know; but if any man loveth God, the same is known by him. Concerning therefore the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is (anything) in the world, and that there is no God but one. But (I say), that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have communion with demons. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.
