Not that which entereth into the mouth defileth the man; but that which proceedeth out of the mouth, this defileth the man. there is nothing from without the man, that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man. because it goeth not into his heart, but into his belly, and goeth out into the draught? (This he said), making all meats clean. and he said unto them, Ye yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to join himself or come unto one of another nation; and (yet) unto me hath God showed that I should not call any man common or unclean: I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself: save that to him who accounteth anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, eat, asking no question for conscience' sake, For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it be received with thanksgiving: To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
