Then will he speak unto them in his wrath, And vex them in his sore displeasure: for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be. In your patience ye shall win your souls. But if we hope for that which we see not, (then) do we with patience wait for it. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope. There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it. (even he), whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, if we endure, we shall also reign with him: if we shall deny him, he also will deny us: For ye have need of patience, that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise. Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations; Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he hath been approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which (the Lord) promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempteth no man: but each man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.
