If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again. If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, thou shalt forbear to leave him, thou shalt surely release (it) with him. If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: And Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And parting his garments among them, they cast lots. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. Bless them that persecute you; bless, and curse not. But if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head. and we toil, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure; who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered threatened not; but committed (himself) to him that judgeth righteously:
