Turn again, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: Look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine,
And the stock which thy right hand planted, And the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.
My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my sheep were scattered upon all the face of the earth; and there was none that did search or seek (after them).
Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and I will build a wall against her, that she shall not find her paths.
When I would heal Israel, then is the iniquity of Ephraim uncovered, and the wickedness of Samaria; for they commit falsehood, and the thief entereth in, and the troop of robbers ravageth without.
Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, so that not a man shall be left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!
My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him; and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
