A sound of terrors is in his ears; In prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him. And blessed be his glorious name for ever; And let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen, and Amen. Till an arrow strike through his liver; As a bird hasteth to the snare, And knoweth not that it is for his life. Boast not thyself of tomorrow; For thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare; But the righteous doth sing and rejoice. for he knoweth not that which shall be; for who can tell him how it shall be? And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble. But God said unto him, Thou foolish one, this night is thy soul required of thee; and the things which thou hast prepared, whose shall they be? Let your loins be girded about, and your lamps burning; But take heed to yourselves, lest haply your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come on you suddenly as a snare: for (so) shall it come upon all them that dwell on the face of all the earth. Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. When they are saying, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall in no wise escape.
