Jehovah maketh poor, and maketh rich: He bringeth low, he also lifteth up.
He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, He lifteth up the needy from the dunghill, To make them sit with princes, And inherit the throne of glory: For the pillars of the earth are Jehovah's, And he hath set the world upon them.
Then the king said to the wise men, who knew the times, for so was the king's manner toward all that knew law and judgment;
He looseth the bond of kings, And he bindeth their loins with a girdle.
They have set thy sanctuary on fire; They have profaned the dwelling-place of thy name (by casting it) to the ground.
They said in their heart, Let us make havoc of them altogether: They have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.
For Jehovah giveth wisdom; Out of his mouth (cometh) knowledge and understanding:
He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off its branches, shake off its leaves, and scatter its fruit: let the beast get away from under it, and the fowls from its branches.
The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones; to the intent that the living may know that the Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the lowest of men.
And he said unto them, It is not for you to know times or seasons, which the Father hath set within His own authority.
Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no power but of God; and the (powers) that be are ordained of God.
But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
